What to do in Boulogne-Sur-Mer according to our 3 experts?

What to do in Boulogne sur Mer according to Antoine, tour guide of the Boulogne tourist office

Start with the fish stalls at Quai Gambetta

Let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of the fishing port, go and see the sailors unloading their catch of the day and buy some fish. I have a weakness at the moment for the lobsters caught at Cap Gris Nez, which are  very affordable when you buy them in the port of Boulogne.

As a bonus, you always benefit from the little preparation tips from the fish merchants.

Go to La Vinotec in the Port

And when I'm looking for the wine that will go with my purchases from the market I stop not far away at the Vinotec O port, 148 Quai Gambetta. It is a veritable library of Port wines with, more than 400 varieties. Port wine can accompany every stage of the meal, from aperitif to dessert, and it also goes well with fish. This House of Ports is a real institution in Boulogne, facing the Nausicaa Gardens, you will get the best advice if you are an amateur.

Discover the beauty of our Coast with a hike very accessible

After a good meal, a good digestive walk! When it's not too windy I like to walk along the path along the cliff to Wimereux, or even to the Pointe aux Oies. From the Marina residence go along the port then follow the GR120, 5km to Wimereux.

If there is too much wind I will hike around the Lac des Miroirs near the château d'Hardelot in Condette and in the forest of Ecault.

Thibault & his advice to visit Boulogne sur Mer

Take your time rue de Lille

I love the old town of Boulogne, I love to stroll there in the morning or in the afternoon after a good meal... The alleyway of Lille is really my favourite one ! Its cobblestones, its old facades, its small restaurants, its bars and also the small shops... The perfect combo to spend a successful day!

Find something special at la Folle Adresse
La folle Adresse is a shop where you come to walk around and rummage through the shelves of objects you haven't seen before! We try to offer as many French and environmentally friendly brands as possible ! From organic cosmetics to children's toys, there's a good chance you'll find what you're looking for! We try to offer a warm atmosphere to make you feel good! In short, come and see us, we will always have at least one smile (or even a joke) to offer you!

Visit the Boulogne sur Mer symbol

It can be seen from the heights of Boulogne... The Basilica of Notre Dame is imposing and magnificent, it must be said! I advise you to visit it and admire its dome from the inside, you feel very small when you are under it! You can take splendid photos there!

To say hello to Thibault, meet him at La Folle Adresse, 9 rue Victor Hugo in Boulogne sur Mer.
