If you're planning a holiday on the Côte d'Opale in the near future, you've come to the right place! With breathtaking coastal scenery, golden beaches and charming little villages, the Côte d'Opale is the perfect place for a seaside holiday or weekend break. When planning your stay on the coast of Northern France, booking your accommodation is an important step. Here are our tips for finding the right hotel for you.

When choosing your accommodation on the Côte d'Opale, there are 4 very important points to consider in our opinion.

LOCATION

The Opal Coast stretches from Berck sur Mer to the Belgian border. That's almost 200km! This means that you won't have exactly the same experience staying in Bray-Dunes or Camiers Sainte Cécile. So it's important to consider your final destination. If you want to go to Le Touquet Paris Plage and see the seals in the Authie Bay, you'll have to opt for the south of the Côte d'Opale. If you want to be halfway along the coast, Boulogne sur Mer is the ideal base. Further north, the Site des 2 Caps is the place to go for nature lovers and picturesque little villages like Wimereux and Wissant. Finally, Dunkerque and Bray-Dunes are also great for those who don't want to drive too far from Lille or Belgium. You'll also need to decide whether you'd prefer to stay in the city centre, in the countryside, or find an establishment that offers a compromise between the two. Some people will want to be able to go to the restaurant in the evening without using their car, while others will prefer to be away from the shops and all the hustle and bustle of the city, even if it takes a few minutes longer.

SERVICES AND AMENITIES

Depending on your preferences and needs, you can quickly narrow down your choices. If you have children, the concept of apartment-hotels and hotel residences will probably suit you much better. You'll be able to enjoy your own privacy and independence, while still benefiting from the services of a more traditional hotel, such as breakfast. For those who love peace and quiet, why not try the bed and breakfast concept? There are plenty of them on the Côte d'Opale. Finally, the region is also home to some very good hotels, ranging from the more classic to the more luxurious. You can opt for well-known hotel chains or more family-run hotels. It all depends on your budget and your needs. To narrow down your choice, we recommend that you draw up a short list of what you feel are the 'must-haves' for your stay. These might include an outdoor or indoor swimming pool, a spa, a terrace, an efficient WiFi connection or a parking space on the premises, for example.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

In our opinion, it is essential to consult the reviews of previous travellers before booking your hotel on the Côte d'Opale. Who better than previous visitors to help you make your choice? It will also give you an idea of which establishment is best suited to a romantic weekend or a family holiday, for example. Comments from previous customers can also help you decide whether the value for money is consistent.

Whatever your final choice, we recommend that you take the time to do some research and compare offers before booking your hotel on the Côte d'Opale.
