Museum for Lace and Fashion Calais

France is known for its delicous wine, pastry and… for its haute couture ofcourse! Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Balmain are only a few, but famous examples. French fashion is known for its lace, which is produced mainly in the North of France nowadays.

The Museum for Lace and Fashion, situated in an authentic lace factory from the XIXth century in Calais, is the perfect place to learn about the history of lace and its different techniques. You can also admire some haute couture pieces here.

The museum is the place to be for each self respecting fashionista. Not only young, renowned designers have a place here, but also famous designers such as Cristóbal Balenciaga!

Evancy recommendation: The Museum for Lace and Fashion organizes from time to time ‘lace workshops’, where you can learn about the lace production and some basic techniques.
