In France, the school calendar is divided into three zones: A, B and C. Dates may vary depending on the region. Here is a complete summary for the 2025–2026 school year:
- All Saints’ Day holidays (all zones): from Saturday 17 October to Monday 2 November 2026
- Christmas holidays (all zones): from Saturday 19 December 2026 to Monday 4 January 2027

Public holidays outside school holidays this year
During the school year, some public holidays fall outside the school holiday periods and therefore have a direct impact on the organisation of lessons:
- Wednesday 11 November 2026 (Armistice Day): one less day of school in the middle of the term, between the All Saints’ Day and Christmas holidays
- Monday 29 March 2027 (Easter Monday): this public holiday falls just before the spring holidays in all three zones
- Thursday 6 May 2027 (Ascension Day), with a long weekend: schools will also be closed on Friday 7 May 2027, allowing for a long weekend from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 May
The breakdown of holiday zones A, B and C in France
Zone A comprises the academic districts of Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon and Poitiers.
Zone B comprises those of Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Normandy, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes and Strasbourg.
Zone C comprises the academies of Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse and Versailles.

School holidays dates in Belgium 2026 - 2027
In Belgium, there is a single school calendar (no division into zones). The dates are set by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and apply to all French-speaking schools:
- Autumn holidays (All Saints’ Day): from Monday 19 to Friday 30 October 2026, with an additional day off on Monday 2 November (All Souls’ Day) before school resumes on Tuesday 3 November
- Winter holidays (Christmas): from Monday 21 December 2026 to Friday 1 January 2027 inclusive
- Carnival holidays: from Monday 22 February to Friday 5 March 2027
- Spring holidays (Easter): from Monday 26 April to Friday 7 May 2027

Public holidays outside the holiday periods
Several Belgian public holidays fall during term time this year:
